A Century of Birds

A Century of Birds

Written, edited, narrated, and filmed by Danny Shelton.
Four years in the making, this is the first film to document the lives of those who pioneered and sustained the earliest state-level bird-study and conservation movement in the southeastern United States. Through triumph and tragedy, this film celebrates the accomplishments of the Tennessee Ornithological Society. Since 1915 TOS members have scaled towering trees, waded through dark swamps, and climbed remote mountains to study the mysteries of bird life. Watch as TOS members band birds by the thousands to find the unknown winter home of the Chimney Swift. Discover how they helped restore the Bald Eagle and Osprey to the Tennessee landscape. Produced in 2015.
