For some reason society thinks the only way you can lose your vigirinty is when you have sex with a man( if your a women ) or you have sex with a women ( if your a man ).it's so stupid and I don't get why it matters. funny story. virginity was such a hot commodity that the first guy I slept with (im bi and from the midwest so I did a lot to convince myself I favored guys growing up most bc of the lack of gay resources in my teens!!)) apparently didn't believe I was a virgin when I told him, so he talked shit about how I was at sex behind my back later (actually it was a really cruel tweet w/out my name but which he knew I would see). it took four years for him to apologize, which he did in PERSON suurprisingly enough, when a mutual friend told him I was never lying when he asked him why I didn't fw him anymore lol.
