CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Frank (Denzel Washington) stops by Nicky’s (Cuba Gooding Jr.) club and tells him to stop ruining his heroin brand by selling a diluted version.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Director Ridley Scott spins this yarn concerning a Harlem drug kingpin (Denzel Washington) who smuggles heroin into the country by hiding it in the bodies of U.S. soldiers killed during battle in Vietnam. There was a time when no one noticed reserved driver Frank Lucas (Washington), but when the criminal kingpin he was charged with transporting through the city streets suddenly dies, Lucas seizes the opportunity to build his own criminal empire. In the following months, Lucas solidifies his status as Harlem’s most innovative drug dealer by delivering a product that is purer than the competitors’ and cheaper, as well. When innovative businessman Lukas attempts to go semi-legit by becoming one of the Manhattan borough’s biggest civil supporters, however, street-savvy outcast cop Ritchie Roberts (Russell Crowe) begins to sense a sizable shift in the hierarchy of the drug underworld. But Roberts is one of the few honest detectives operating within a corrupt system, and as he sets out to investigate the case, crooked detective Trupo (Josh Brolin) does everything in his power to compromise the integrity of his idealistic counterpart. Upon clearing all of the usual Mafia-connected suspects, Roberts begins to believe that a previously unknown black power player has come out of the woodwork to dominate the local drug trade. While Roberts and Lucas may be operating on opposite sides of the law, the one thing that both men have in common is a strict code of ethics that separates them from their opportunistic colleagues. Now, as a confrontation between the two men becomes inevitable and the fate of each becomes inexorably tied to the other, it gradually becomes apparent that only one of them will emerge from the conflict victorious.

  1. Crips is the name of the product. When you name your product Eastside Crips; that's trademark infringement Denzel? I mean Mr. Lucas? Lol

  2. The car reference is only half true. That’s only a cosmetic difference but compositionally still the same vehicle.

But if you buy a Rolls Royce & swap it out with a Honda engine and trade the fine leather seats for fabric ones, you can’t certify it as a genuine Rolls Royce to customers. It’s been fundamentally altered.

  3. All the documentaries I've seen Frank Lucas was not on Nicky Barnes organization's level and there is no way he could have walked into Nicky Barnes club and talked to him like that.

  4. Lmaoooo I know this scene was ridiculously hard to film without cracking the hell up Denzel started laughing first Cuba started chuckling prior to my man said get a choke hold on it and call it Blue dogshit

  5. Walter Hartwell White Sr understood the power of branding. He called his product "Blue Sky" or just "Blue" lol

  6. Nicky survives because he's polite and accommodating. When Frank says he needs to talk, Nicky clears a space, quiets the troublemakers so he can focus, apologizes for the inconvenience, and doesn't insult Frank once. He expresses annoyance and frustration, which is understandable, but he is willing to work with Frank on the problem.

  7. The point of this convo was to let the audience know who the real American Gangster !! Nicky is the Real American Gangster n Frank was the Business Man !! Nicky Barnes ran New York not Frank Lucas !! Great scene ??

  8. Kind of crazy in real life these characters are the opposite… Nicky Barnes is more of the refined one and Frank was the bumpkin

  9. The "my man" at the end sounds more like "you are a drug addict that only acts tough when hes on drugs. dont cross me again"

  10. Any more then that is greed son ??. Wasnt nicky and frank the same age ? I think its denzel calling cuba son ?

  11. I like when Cuba threw the glass right when he heard Denzel say "don't let me catch you".
He didn't even wait for him to finish his sentence.
Like hearing Denzel say that actually set him off.

    Good acting.
