Patients who have been infected with the coronavirus and recovered could be the key to fighting the disease. One potential treatment uses the antibodies built up in the blood of patients who’ve had the illness. Dr. Jon LaPook speaks with a doctor who is overseeing the treatment in Houston.

Prevention is always better than cure! And for those who were infected, hope is not all lost however cure is still unclear! Plasma donations from mild (flu) symptoms patients who are deemed cured from COVID-19 infection do not work; but for moderate ill (dry cough and fever) patients who are cured without medical care only have 35% chance of success rate in treating other ill patients!

Wouldn't it be wonderful if, when this pandemic is over, and this particular treatment worked, that maybe racism could become a thing of the past….survivors knowing that the blood of someone with a different ethnicity is the same blood that saved their life? Hopefully they'd realize that blood is the same….no matter who's veins it runs through.
Blood plasma is a vaccine solution in the beginning stages and may not recover the already seriously ill patients. Leronlimad is a proven and tested cure for critically ill patients. It reverses the Corona cause immune chaos and gets them off the ventilators. For some reason it's not yet in the standard inventory of all the hospitals. Hospitals have the obligation of informing the patients of these options if they're about to die on them. If they don't have leronlimad available they could use chloroquine or Avigen anti virals to save the patient's life. There is something really fishy about the hospitals not having these cures on hand and simply letting their patients die on ventilators.

The trouble is we don’t have enough testing. Many of us could have already been exposed / had mild cases / recovered and not even know it. I would love to help in this way, but there is no testing available to me. Its a scary virus, Im not unafraid of it, but I believe im a person who can beat it. Im in my early 30’s, good overall health, and type-O blood. They should take volunteers, and be ready to give them support. I’d sign up. I was driving Uber before I quit out of concern for myself + my 92yo Grandmother at home. It is possible I’ve had some limited exposure already. I have not felt 100% the whole way through the past month, since my concerns of exposure. But since i limited my exposure & have isolated myself, it’s been very mild, whatever it is, and it could just be the stress of everything that made me feel unwell. Without testing, there is no telling! WE NEED TESTING!!!!!!

With this limited amount of time, anti-body might be unrealistic. Sometimes it causes rejection and other side effect. Hydroxychloroquine or other drugs are the safe choice, and they have worked in other countries.

After all you put the people through, it would be a good idea to pay them for the use of their blood if you’re going to require it from them or railroad them into agreeing to it. You may as well give them some of your paycheck and compensate them anyway for what you put them through at the hospital or wherever they happened to have been quarantined. The quarantine during illness was bad enough but don’t make an already bad problem worse by taking their blood and not compensating them
Quick question ! Say if someone has the antibodies to cure COVID-19, what if the person of going to want payment for giving their plasma!? What if that person charged 50 billion dollars for it???
