Allow me to correct the title: Discord's "Reform". I love Discord, but I don't think he truly reformed until after he sided with Tirek. Sure, in this moment he was heading in the right direction, but he still did truly questionable things towards his 'friends'. As some in this comment section have said, some people can only change after hitting rock bottom. There are others who need to hit it a few times, which I believe is Discord. When he joined forces with Tirek, he saw how his actions truly hurt others, especially the ones he cared about. He also faced betrayal, which could have been a breaking point as well: "This is how my friends, the only people who have ever been nice to me, feel because of my actions." And then Twilight exchanges her magic for him and her friends, which showed Discord that even though he did something terrible, a friend never leaves another behind. Just my two cents, anyway.
When discord turned the ice back he didn’t snap but instead crossed his hands over his heart. I think this means he meant to reform from his heart.
