  1. I feel one of the reasons the show is so good, and indeed you mention it in the video, the characters are so well written and believable. The reason we all hate Malty so much is that she's such a well written character. Sure, she and some of the others not be quite as fleshed out as the main cast, but still. There is only so much you can feel as an audience through the heroes eyes, the villige needs to be good as well. We kan see Naofumi's hate for especially her, but she needs to be convincing to reinforce the hatred to the audience. When I watch something like episode four and I get so pissed I would like to 'open up a can of wupass' on her face, I can't help but get a smile on my face, cause it means the character well written and acted (in the case of the anime). A minor sidenote for me was the only slightly disappointing badguy was the Pope. It was an amazing arc and a fantastic finish with that 'blood sacrifice', but that was the only character in the show I felt was a but underwhelming. Otherwise all the characters that needed to be hated was easy to hate, especially the fat bastard that was the former owner of Raphtalia. This show has become my one and true love for sure, I can't wait for season two to come out!!

  2. If there’s any anime’s like this, please tell me cause I think this is the type of anime I like now!

  3. I remember reading a spin-off of the shield hero but it follows the the spear hero who was sent back in time to the summon where he’s looking for Filo, calls the shield hero father-in-law, and has a small army of filolial children.

  4. One plot point I'd love seeing is Raphtalia becoming the sword hero. First of all, she is, already, arguably stronger than him. Second of all, it would make a fun twist on the limitations of summoning the heros. The hero dies, another cannot be summoned unless all four die, but one can be named if she is already there. And third, it forces the other two to finally realize that this isn't just a game, and maybe becomes the arc for bringing them all together. Although the other part of me wants to see Naofume, Therese, Glass, And L'Arc become "The Four Cardinal Heroes" that save all three worlds.

  5. I love how they called Naofumi a rapist but motoyasu started touching filo whose a child which is pedophilia. Fucking hypocrite

  6. Another thing to like is despite how thirsty Raphtalia is for Naofumi, she gets daughter-zoned.

Also some of the latest stuff of the LN is really making me look forward to seeing it animated.

  7. I love how the characters who are female don't feel like they exist TO be female, even the ones on his team. It's great. Raphtalia, unlike female characters in most isekai, feels like she would exist whether or not she was male. She exists not because "we need a harem," but because "we need a character with a strong and important bond to the main character, with a good backstory and good motivations."
She's the first 'cute anime girl' that everyone unanimously agrees is great. Why? Because she doesn't exist to be a girl! Even her voice doesn't sound like a typical anime girl.

..also I love the fact she has 2 ears, not 4. It is way too common for demi humans to have 4 ears, and it raises so many questions about their anatomy and their sense of hearing- not to mention it just looks ugly

  8. Guys there will be an second and third seasons don't forget yet we have to wait like the comment if you're pumped up

  9. Can we get an Isekai where the main protagonist is an idiot?
Like he only pays attention to Attack and only attack. No defense or Hp, no magic skills, it’s just Attack

  10. All of my close friends agreed that Naofumi is pretty much myself in a fantasy setting. In all seriousness, I did find a certain relatability in Naofumi because of our similar personality traits and a lot of things he does that I would likely do in a setting such as this one. I have also been blamed a few too many times for things I didn't do by people I thought were my friends (though not to the degree of sexual assault), so I do share in Naofumi's overly cautious and slightly misanthropic demeanor. Just the fact that i can relate to him makes me love this anime on a personal level. It might even be my new favorite.

  11. Recommend anyone who loves this anime to rewatch this again in Dub. The dub is pretty good and if you are someone who played Fire Emblem Three Houses, you will recognize many of the actors from the game in the dub.

  12. Raftalia is best girl in a rare isekai anime where everyone in nowfumi's party on their own would be best girl, Raftalia shines above them all.

  13. The King made my sad because he’s a genuinely good guy who’s been traumatized by past trauma and kept his sanity by focusing on his family, a member of that family was heavily spoiled and turned into a horrible person, who then abused the absolute trust that he had in her.

  14. Just goes to show you that the best characters don't have to be overpowered.. they don't have to be morally right.. they don't have to be nice, or even care about what's happening.
They just have to be believable, interesting, and change over time.
Naofumi, Subaru from Re: Zero, and Kazuma from Kono Suba are the 3 best Isekai heroes. Not because they are OP… but because they are not.

  15. This anime makes us understand that owning a slave doesn't mean that you abuse it. Theres a lot of slaves in History that live better compare to others.

The problem is that when we hear about slave we always misjudged and not really trying to understand people.

  16. Luckily all characters are redeemed and become quite likable even the king except for Bitch…. She uh…. She a bitch

  17. Naofumi and Kazuma are some of the only characters in fiction where I can say that they,” are just normal guys” just in strange circumstances.

  18. This video does a great job of summarizing my own thoughts of why this anime works so well. The only thing I have left to add is: this show managed to have a hot springs episode that was wholesome as all heck. Now that’s impressive.

  19. The novel is amazing, its so mach fun see his Character grow and the problems that they show at the start to a plot points as they continue

  20. As good as the anime is the latest 5 chapters of the manga (at the time of writing this comment) are so completely trash I cannot believe they are from the same series.
